Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building) or Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Site Management) are nationally recognised qualifications that will provide career pathways to becoming a licensed builder or site supervisor. ACTS is now offering these qualifications through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL*) assessment.
- Pre-requisite If you currently possess a Certificate III trade qualification or equivalent and can prove a level of skills and experience that meet the national qualification standard, you may be eligible to have those skills and experience assessed against the requirements of the Certificate IV in Building and Construction.
- Assessment ACTS has developed a RPL assessment package that covers the key theory and practical areas related to the construction and management of residential & commercial low-rise buildings.
Candidates are assessed in areas such as occupational health and safety, building codes, building contracts management, estimating,planning and supervising building work, legal requirements, managing finances and dispute resolutions, site surveying and interpreting building plans and specifications.
Upon enrolment, candidates will receive a package containing all assessment tasks and detailing the evidence required for submission. The assessment involves completing the tasks, submitting the portfolio of evidence and on-site visits by ACTS assessors who will observe candidates and discuss with them the various aspects of the qualification, as well as assisting with completing the package.
The qualification is attained once the assessment package is successfully completed.
- Timeframe The ACTS RPL assessment pack has been developed to allow candidates the opportunity to obtain a qualification at their own pace without the need for lengthy and tiresome classrooms sessions. As soon as the package is complete, the assessment can be finalised.
